Commercial Remodel & Addition

Located in the historic district of Silver City, the original building embodied all the charm of Victorian-inspired design that our small town is famous for. The owner, Dr. Nicholas Mittica, had simply outgrown the space and required an additional 2000 square feet to accommodate his expanding practice. There were many challenges druing the building process due to the location and site but all of them were successfully met. We were pleased (and so was Dr. Mittica) that the practice never had to close during the year of construction.

It was important to the owner that the feeling of the addition be identical to the exisiting structure. He wanted it to still feel like a small town office while being completely modern in its function. Some of the design elements we used to achieve this goal were:
New windows matching in size to original windows
Five-panel solid wood interior doors to match older doors
Ceiling heights to match existing ceiling
Solid oak flooring to match existing floor
Tall baseboards and historical-style moulding for doors and windows
Wide concrete stairway as viewed from adjacent Courthouse
